Sola Diagnostics is committed to improving women’s cancer prevention and early detection through innovation. Our technology was developed by Professor Martin Widschwendter and his teams at University College London and the University of Innsbruck.

Prof Widschwendter is Professor in Women’s Cancer at University College London (UCL), where he was the Head of Department of Women’s Cancer, UCL EGA Institute for Women’s Health for almost 10 years until March 2020. Prof Widschwendter is also Professor for Cancer Prevention and Screening and Director of the European Translational Oncology Prevention and Screening (EUTOPS) Institute, Leopold-Franzens-University of Innsbruck, Austria, Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist, LKH Hall in Tirol, Austria, and FRCOG (Fellows ad eundem) of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), London, UK. The Team
Chief Investigator: Ms Nicola MacDonald

Ms MacDonald is a consultant gynaecological oncologist and the clinical lead for gynaecological oncology at University College London Hospital (UCLH).
She leads the regional Teenage and Young Adult gynaecological oncology service, and is the North Central London Cancer Alliance network clinical director for gynaecological oncology.
Ms MacDonald qualified at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1994. She trained in obstetrics and gynaecology in North West Thames and undertook a research MD at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.
She completed her sub-specialty training in gynaecological oncology at UCLH and became a consultant in 2006.
